12 Transjakarta Corridors to Have ELTE in October

It must be supported with a sterile and smooth lane thus we can predict the bus arrival at the destination

City-run transportation company PT Transjakarta is set to install the Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) e-ticketing system in 12 bus corridors in the forthcoming October, following MoU signing between PT Transjakarta with Polda Metro Jaya, on Tuesday (9/10).

PT Transjakarta President Director, Agung Wicaksono said the key to encourage people use public transportation was the bus arrival time at the bus stop.

Through ETLE, Motorists are Much More Orderly

"It must be supported with a sterile and smooth lane thus we can predict the bus arrival at the destination," he expressed.

He assessed that ELTE was very effective to parse congestion whereby it could provide record-keeping accuracy thus evidence of violations is inevitable.

Its cooperation will start from the preparation of procurement, installation and integration of electronic systems, which is targeted to be complete by the end of this month. So ticketing system could be imposed in October.

"Hopefully the bus can return to its original mandate, which is a special lane must be sterile 100 percent for the safety and comfort of Jakartans in using public transportation," he concluded.
